Paul Renshaw, a consultant with Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Dan Rindfleisch, a recent graduate of
Ohio State University, pedaled their way across America over six weeks, raising more than $3,500
to support United Way of Greater Cleveland. Their journey began on Saturday, August 15, in Cleveland
and ended 3,300 miles later in Anacortes, Washington, on Thursday, September 24.
Rider Paul Renshaw commented, "The purpose here is to really push the outer bounds in showing what you
can do to give back to the community. This cause is important to us, because we believe that for this
community to be successful, we can no longer sit on the sidelines -- you either make things happen,
or let them happen to you, and now more than ever is the time to make things happen. This is the time
to get out of the bleachers and onto the playing field and to make a difference."
"This is a wonderful example of how an individual's efforts, no matter how large or small, can make an
impact," said K. Michael Benz, CEO and President of United Way of Greater Cleveland. "These young men
set an outstanding example for the Greater Cleveland community by taking on this challenge and
personally demonstrating what it is to Live United."
