    It's a home run-three pointer-touchdown-goal! all rolled into one

One way to help United Way is by bidding high and often at the Third Annual United Way Sports Auction live on the air from 5 a.m. to midnight Tuesday, November 1 on Newsradio WTAM 1100. An online auction will begin October 20. Wills and Coleman in the morning and Mike Trivisonno in the afternoon will be interviewing stars from all the Cleveland pro sports teams and auctioning off great sports experiences and memorabilia. United Way and Cleveland sports teams are on the same team, helping Clevelanders change lives for the better, making a better community for all of us.

You can be part of the team too by bidding on the great items that will be for sale with starting bids from $25 to $10,000. For example, if you love golf and hockey, bid on 18 holes of golf with a member of the Cleveland Barons Hockey team and Golf Pro Gary Trivisonno. Have a kid that loves hockey? How about having a member of the Barons come to your son's or daughter's hockey practice?

Not into hockey? How about baseball? You and your loved one love the Tribe? How about a romantic dinner on home plate…literally! You and a guest can enjoy a candlelit, gourmet dinner right on homeplate. That will surely score a homerun with any Tribe fan! This is just one of a number of outstanding, unique Indians experiences up for auction this year.

Basketball more your thing? Take yourself onto the court for an all access evening. For the night "You're the Man (or Woman)" as you will wear your own Cavaliers jersey, watch the pre-game warm-ups from the court, deliver the game ball to the officials and be the 6th man during the spotlight player introductions. You will then join 11 of your best friends for a "suite" evening in your private loge as you watch the Cavaliers beat the competition.

These are great experiences, however some of the hottest competition at the auction will be for the incredible memorabilia that will be available. Want to be like LeBron? How about a LeBron autographed jersey or ball? Pigskin more your style? Well, an autographed Dennis Northcutt football can be yours. You can hit it out of the park with a Ronnie Belliard autographed game-used bat or you can wear it well with a Bob Wickman autographed jersey.

Whether your dream is being on the field or having the coolest current memorabilia around fresh from the players, this is the premier Cleveland sports auction, an event not to be missed.

United Way of Greater Cleveland helps the entire community cope with the little crises that happen every day in a city. Like United Way, Cleveland's sports teams represent all of us. Like United Way, sports is about people… sometimes you are on the field, sometimes in the stands and other times on the sidelines. Helping United Way gets you off the bench and into the game of helping people in need right here in our own community. In fact, United Way helps over 400,000 people in our community every year…that's the number of people at a sell out game at Jacobs Field…ten times over!
