    Campaign Spotlight
Jones Day logo Spotlight on Jones Day
Professional firms contribute much to the success of the United Way of Greater Cleveland campaign, and Jones Day, one of the world's largest international law firms, has run a company campaign that's a true success story. The 2006 Jones Day campaign has already far exceeded expectations as well as its goal and the campaign is not complete yet. With a team-based approach, Jones Day's employee campaign manager Alicia Moore, event co-chairs, team leaders and employee teams conducted a high-energy campaign using United Way's best practices and some innovative special events.

Fifteen team leaders assisted event co-chairs Kathy Pursch and Susan Way to the most successful Jones Day/United Way special event to date. Each team leader was responsible for soliciting donations from co-workers in their area for their specific, creatively designed basket. In all, these efforts produced 18 baskets and raised over $6,000!

    Weight Loss Challenge
Twelve teams signed up for this 12-week program, which focused on helping them lead healthier lifestyles. Seminars, conducted by personal trainer and co-chair Angela Ledyard with the assistance of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, GNC and VyoTech Nutrition, were held on nutrition, fitness, diet, supplements and other health-related topics. Fitness classes were also conducted in the firm's Fitness Center. The final eight teams lost a total of 137 pounds and nearly 163 waistline inches, and the event raised over $900 for United Way.

In addition to these special events, Jones Day also held Blue Jean Fridays, Casual Week, a Malley's Chocolates Online Candy Sale, coin collection, book fair and other raffles. Our warmest thanks to Jones Day and all of its employees involved in the 2006 campaign. Your commitment to our community through United Way is appreciated more than you know!
