Nordstrom first began in 1901 as a shoe store in downtown Seattle. The company gradually grew to become a nationwide fashion specialty chain renowned for its service, quality and value. Just as Nordstrom shows its commitment to its customers through providing quality customer service, the company also has a longstanding commitment to supporting the community. Nordstrom's support comes in different forms including but not limited to monetary contributions, community partnerships and volunteerism.

Last year their local Beachwood store raised more than $30,000 for United Way of Greater Cleveland. The Nordstrom Beachwood team supports the company's corporate philosophy of giving back to the community through highly successful, creative and energetic United Way campaigns. Over the last three years, "Team Beachwood" has increased their contributions by more than five percent!
