8th Annual Hometown Huddle
September 28, 2006 (Cleveland, Ohio)
United Way of Greater Cleveland will team up with the Cleveland Browns and Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland to build a playground at the Boys and Girls Club at 6114 Broadway Avenue in Cleveland for the 8th Annual Hometown Huddle on Tuesday, October 10, 2006.
The NFL and the Boys and Girls Clubs are sponsoring this brand-new, modular play structure complete with slides, ladders, a swing set and a tire run. And volunteers from all three organizations, including a few Browns players, will provide the physical labor to build it in one day. The work will begin at 9 am and continue until the playground is ready for play, ending at about 4 pm.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland is a United Way partner agency and provides programs that focus on developing neighborhood and school-aged youths' self-esteem, independence and sense of citizenship through social, recreational and educational activities.
