    Hang with the stars; Bid on guitars Marky Ramone, Alice Cooper and Kristin Nelson to appear at the Rock Hall on November 6 for United Way Services of Greater Cleveland's GuitarManiaŽ II, Encore in 2004 live auction of 75 guitars transformed into works of art

    (Cleveland, Ohio) October 28, 2004
    Marky Ramone of The Ramones, rock star Alice Cooper and Kristin Nelson, widow of Ricky Nelson, will add star glitter to the United Way Services of Greater Cleveland's GuitarManiaŽ II, Encore in 2004 live auction of 10-ft-tall fiberglass models of the Fender StratocasterŽ guitar sculpted and painted by celebrities and local artists.

    • At 8 p.m., Ramone will auction his guitar Speedy, featuring Eileen Destri
    • Kristin Nelson also will auction her guitar Garden Party
    • Alice Cooper, former shock rocker and active musician, will assist in auctioning a few guitars. He owns Cooper'stown Restaurant on East Ninth Street, across from Jacobs Field.
    • Bill Schultz, chairman of the board of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, will attend GuitarManiaŽ II, Encore in 2004.
    • 75 guitars (15 by celebrities) of the 91-member band will be auctioned off at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on November 6, 2004.
    • Online pre-bidding is available at www.guitarmaniaauction.com. Bidders may submit proxy bids if they are unable to attend the auction. Leading online bids will become the opening bids for the live auction and/or become the final bid if attendees do not best the online bid.
    • GuitarManiaŽ II, Encore in 2004 is a community art project presented by United Way Services of Greater Cleveland in conjunction with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
    • Proceeds benefit United Way Services of Greater Cleveland and the Rock Hall's education fund.
