Thanks to our generous donors, we exceeded our 2007 goal!
The 2007 United Way of Greater Cleveland Campaign surpassed its goal of $42.3 million, raising $43,009,809, announced Campaign Co-Chairs Philip L. Rice, President and CEO of National City Bank, and Paul Clark, President of Northern Ohio Banking, National City Bank, at United Way's Annual Meeting held March 7, 2008.
"Today is a time of great celebration," said Henry L. Meyer III, United Way of Greater Cleveland Board Chairman and KeyCorp Chairman and CEO, during his report to the community. "I would like to thank Phil Rice and Paul Clark, and commend them on running an outstanding campaign."
"What a year we have had," said Rice, reflecting on the United Way campaign. "Since we addressed this audience one year ago, Paul Clark and I have experienced both the energy and generosity of this community … United Way will be able to continue to make a difference in our community every day … and this is only possible because of all of you and the thousands of United Way volunteers and donors that you represent."
"It has been an interesting, invigorating, rewarding and humbling year for Paul and me," said Clark. "So many gave so much time, energy, talent and dollars to make this a successful campaign."
Among the largest workplace campaigns in 2007, four raised over $1 million: KeyCorp ($3.5 million), National City ($3.2 million), Cleveland Clinic Health System ($1.75 million) and Eaton Corporation ($1.5 million).
