Conducting early and ambitious campaigns, Pacesetter organizations spark United Way's annual campaign, raising funds to create opportunities to improve the quality of life for all Greater Clevelanders. Pacesetter organizations commit to going "above and beyond," by raising at least five percent more than the previous year's campaign.

In 2008, 128 companies and organizations committed to running Pacesetter Campaigns for United Way of Greater Cleveland. Of them, 97 achieved their goal of raising five percent or more than in the previous campaign, for a total of $9.3 million.
